A big thank you from PudseyNovember 23, 2009

Our beautiful little Pudsey the bear pendant would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who bid on him during Fridays auction.

The final bid was for £550, and he’s very proud to have done his bit towards the current total which is now over the £20 million pound mark, an absolutely amazing night for a brilliant charity.

We hope that Pudsey loves his new home and family!

Pudsey comes to life!November 17, 2009

pudsey-copy1

We’re delighted to reveal the latest member of our team…Pudsey the bear.

This year to support Children In Need we wanted to give a charitable gift that was a bit more personal,  the result is our Pudsey pendant. Handmade by Kim Torode in our workshop Pudsey is crafted from 9 carat gold and silver and is approximately 1 inch tall by 3/4 inch wide, with enamalled detailing and is engraved with ‘2009 Children In Need’ on the reverse.

Kim has worked tirelessly on Pudsey and has given him a beautiful new lease of life, of which he is very happy.

Pudsey is being auctioned this Friday during the John Randall BBC Radio Guernsey show starting at 9:30am and continuing throughout the day. In the mean time Pudsey will be on show at our studio,  The Mill in St Martins. Please feel free to come and view him in person!

Everyone seems to Love our LettersNovember 5, 2009

pcf6014cwtonew

We first ran advertising for our new Love Letters range in the Guernsey Press and Jersey Evening Post on the 15th October and the response so far has been phenomenal!

People have been saying to us that they’ve been wanting to find a decent quality letter pendant for ages but couldn’t find anything they liked, until now.

We’re so pleased people like them. Interestingly the letters A, G, L, S, and T have been the popular ones, in both the plain metals as well as the jewelled sparklers. If you are thinking about a special, personal Christmas gift, then one of our Love Letters are perfect.

Love Letters : a personal updateNovember 4, 2009

We just want to give you an update on the Love Letters range: that each one can be personalised, with a coloured gemstone or diamonds for that extra little bit of sparkle.

If you want to give us a call or pop into our studio, we can provide a bespoke service to modify a Love Letter pendant to your exact wishes.

Welcome

Hello and welcome to the Catherine Best blog. After more than 20 years in the jewellery business, I’m still very passionate about designing and thankfully, almost never seem to run out of new ideas. I particularly love working with rare, unusually coloured gemstones like Tourmaline or Tanzanite, which have stunning colour ranges that can take my breath away.

I’m often asked what my signature style is but that’s quite hard to say, as I design for each individual personality I meet, but I hope the jewels shine for themselves.

I hope you’ll enjoy reading more about what goes on at the Catherine Best studios.
