A few years ago, Catherine Best and Vikki Freeman tied themselves together for a whole day in the office to raise money for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day. They raised £1,000.
Two years later, both Catherine and Vikki decided to tie themselves together again and sit at the town church for the whole day. After spending the day tied together and freezing in the bitterly cold weather, they raised over £2812 for this amazing cause.
BBC Red Nose Day organisers have now stated how impressed they are with Catherine and Vikki's efforts, and have invited the mother and daughter team to be their super fund-raisers for Guernsey!
For this year's Red Nose Day, Catherine and Vikki are appealing to all islanders to help raise money for this wonderful charity by following their lead. Find a colleague and ask to be sponsored for you both to be tied together for one whole work day! Both mother and daughter are looking to get as many participants as possible to make this Red Nose Day Guernsey Fund-Raising Extravaganza the best yet. After challenging the MD of Christies restaurant group on live radio in Guernsey, Christophe is now tying himself to a pole for twenty-four hours on the deck of the Boathouse restaurant! Don't worry, he will be in a tent with all he needs and Catherine will untie him herself at 1pm on Red Nose Day. Christies group will also be closing the Boathouse restaurant for two hours on Red Nose Day March 24th and putting on a set lunch for all those who are participating.
The fund-raising is currently going strong, but we encourage all islanders to get involved by either taking part or sponsoring those who are tying themselves together, aiming to help to improve people's lives across the UK and Africa.
